Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on

I can find the nm to m conversion, but what I need to see is how to use the info in a problem. For example, I have the problem:
Convert 1.487×10^–8 nm to m ..... how do I use the 1 x 10^-9 in the conversion? Do I multiply? Divide? Can someone show me please?
Thank you!

1.487x10^-8 nm
1 nm is 1x10^-9 m
Add 'em up, -9+(-8)= -17
So 1.487x10^-8 nm is 1.487x10^-17 m
0.000 000 000 000 000 014 87 m

(1.487×10^–8 nm)(1.0x10^-9m/1.0nm) =1.487x10^-17m
So yes you multipy the value you have (1.487×10^–8 nm) by the conversion value (1.0x10^-9m/1.0nm)
