HI

I have a mouse that consumes oxygen at a rate of 5.3 mls/min and I need to convert that to mls of gas/gram of animal/hour. The weight of the mouse is 36.1 grams.

Consider that 5.3 ml of oxygen is being used by 36.1 grams of mouse per hour.

therefore:

5.3 ml/36.1 grams per animal/minute is equal to:

0.147 ml/g per animal/minute

mulitplying 0.147 ml/g per animal/minute by 60 minutes/hour will give us:

8.82 ml/g per animal/hour
