This one was asked not too long ago, but I can't recall just where the reference is, so:
the volume is 8' x 8' x 1', so that's 64 cubic feet. Sand weights about 100 lbs per cubic foot, so you'll need 6400 pounds of sand. I've seen tow types of bags at Home Depot, 60 lb, and 100 lb bags, so I'd guess you'll need between 64 and 106 bags, if you want to fill the box to the top.
