Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on

I am trying to figure out how much linear feet is per box. We are putting down a wood floor with a border in a darker color. I know the boards are 2.25" and I need them 3 boards wide. The room is roughly 12x12. Can anyone help me?

If room is 12' x 12', perimeter (sum of four sides) is 48' The first tier of your border will be 48 linear feet long. 2nd and 3rd will be slightly less, but just go with 48 x 3 = 144 linear feet of darker border.
Balance of roim will be just under 11' x 11' because of width reduction of border. Just assume 11 x 11 = 121 sq ft.
Because boards are 2.25" wide, each square foot requires 12/2.25 = 5.333 linear feet, so 646 linear feet.
I would boost both those numbers by at least 5% allowance for miscuts, waste, etc.
