Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

You need to get the area first, so you need the shape. You may need to divide it into shapes for which formulas exist. Besides the dimensions, you need the angles at the corners, or the bearing (direction) of each lot line as well as length.
Only a triangle can be solved by length of sides alone. For a four sided figure you need at least one angle (and which sides form it) plus all the sides. Of course, if you know it is a rectangle (all angles 90 degrees), it is just length x width.
Once you compute area, 1 acre = 43560 square feet.
