Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Convert US gallons into square feet

I am trying to purchase a solar heater for my pool and to do this I have to know the square footage. My pool is 24 ft. round and 4.5 ft deep and holds 12,500 gallons of water. Can anyone assist me with this?

I'm assuming this is only the top water surface area. Area of a circle is A = (pi/4)*d*d,
so about 453 sq ft.

Of cource there is a similar area at the bottom, and a vertical area (the sides) pi*d*h, about 302 sq ft.
