Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

How many feet are in 151 centimeters?

There are 30.4799999536704 centimeters in one foot. If you divide the total centimeters (151) by 30.4799999536704 cm/ft, you come up with 4.954068249 feet.

That figure is only correct if you are using the pre-1959 foot. now known as the US survey foot, and used only in surveying. In 1959, the English-speaking nations resolved their minor differences in the foot and agreed on 30.48 cm/ft exactly (or 25.4 mm.on). Since there are 3 significant figures in the 151 cm, there is little point to more than three figures in the answer, so 4.95'

Actually, that can't be the survey foot, which is 1200/3937 m. Perhaps it is the British pre-1959 foot. It is not the modern definition.
