Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on

500,000 BTU's is what in terms of F°? Need a lil' help people!!!!! :roll: :cry: :(

One is a unit of heat energy, one is a unit of temperature. You can't convert from one to the other, you have to understand the medium acted on.
A BTU is the amount of heat required to heat one pound of water one degree F (at some specified temperature since it isn't exactly constant). So 500,000 BTU would heat 500,000 lbs of water 1 degree F, or 50,000 lbs of water 10 degrees F, or . . . You get the idea. Other substances have other heat capacities, so above is only true for water.

Gotcha......thanx! 8) ........I read also tha a BTU is equivalent to the heat produced by a single match :shock: :roll: .....is that pretty accurate?
