Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on

I have this math problem:
The pressure at the bottom of the lake is found by the formular P = hD, where h is the depth of the water and D is the density of the water. Find the pressure in lb/in2 at 500ft below the surface. D=62.4 lb/ft3.
I am lost as to what is the conversion factor ???

Pressure in a column is planar, depending on the height of the column, so in this instance, pounds per ft^3 is pounds per ft^2. There are 144 square inches in a square foot (12 * 12), so run the formula and divide the answer (pounds per ft^2) by 144 to get pounds per in^2 (psi).
