mg/kg to cc

I am a surgical tech student and I am looking for information on how to convert durg dossage information listed in mg to cc. If anyone can help I need the formula and an example please.

I had a very similar question and after much searching found that you have to use the package insert for each drug to determine how many mg per mL are present in the particular drug. Good luck!

The thing you have to realize with this type of conversion is that you are converting mass to volume, meaning each conversion will be different depending on the substance you are converting. By converting first mg(mass) -> mL(volume) you can easily convert mL to cc(also a volume)

Many places will use a standard, such as water, when doing a conversion like this. For water it's easy 1 mg is 1 mL which is 1 cc. As a surgical tech you will need to determine how the hospital does it's conversions. :D

Actually converting mg to cc is so universal that there is an online calculator (http://calculator-converter.com/converter_mg_to_cc_milligrams_to_cubic_centimeters_calculator.php) and the calculator doesn't specify for which hospital which means it is universal.
The conversion has a table also:
